The Dranesville United Methodist Church Youth Group meets once a month. All youth that are in grades 6 to 12 are welcome!
Karen Rizzo, mom of 2 girls in college and substitute teacher, has been volunteering with youth at Dranesville for the last 16 years. Youth activities are organized to include mission and service work, fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth. All are welcome, so come check us out!
Each year we try to include activities and meetings that focus on mission and service work, Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and fun. The youth group is a safe place for discussions on all areas of spiritual growth. Occasionally, the group travels to locations outside of the church to do mission work and fellowship. We have participated in Operation Christmas Child, the Pittsburgh Project, the 30-hour Famine with World Vision, Kids Konnection, a local Photos with Santa, and two painting projects for churches in Southern Virginia. For the last 4 years, the group has taken a summer trip to Lake Junaluska, NC, for a youth discipleship retreat.
